| > > | Situation Software developers need to be able to get alpha and beta testers to more quickly and completely eliminate buggy code. If the installation and booting of new OS software and applications software is forced to be more modular and less time consuming, this result can be achieved. Users who want to upgrade OS software would also be well served because they would be less frustrated with prematurely released software if they could go back easily to a stable version. Developers would also be well served by such a scheme because the headaches and frustrations of compatibility issues would have a built in path to follow. Users could also give more hope to innovative developers that their ideas may actually get tried if those OS trials were easy to do. Target Develop the system in such a way that new OS installation was as easy as opening a file with an application. Give users the ability to upgrade and revert in version of OS and applications with that ease. This would also give developers and testers faster turn around and probably better results along with better productivity. Proposal Write requirements for software operations within the system and software development, installation, de-installation, upgrading, delivery and testing that promote these notions and goals. Here we are concerned with the traits of both hardware and software that will allow the users to quickly and cleanly change OperatingSystem? software. The intent is to give the user choices of OS software, choices of versions of OS software, allow easy upgrade paths as well as an easy way of reverting to more stable OS software versions.
Please capture these traits in the form of requirements.
