Nickel Metal Hydride Batteries are an evolution of the NiCad cell.

Pros:

• More environmentally friendly compared to NiCad
• Greater capacity than NiCad
• Lighter than NiCad
• Some cells support Rapid charging( 2 x battery capacity)
• Less likely to cause a fire than LiIon from improper charging
• Battery pack does not require constant monitoring

Cons:

• High self-discharge rate
• RapidBatteryCharging requires special monitoring chargers
• Minor Memory Effect ( a full discharge to 1V/cell is recommended once a month)
